This year, we will be hosting a Holiday Market, in partnership with the North Durham Chamber of Commerce, running on weekends from November 29 to December 21, with a return for Family Day 2026!

The Lakefront Skating Rink will be back for the 2025-26 season! It is expected to open December 2025, exact date to be determined.

  • No hockey sticks, pucks, or nets
  • No skates in washrooms
  • No fighting
  • No spitting
  • No strollers on ice (training aids permitted)
  • Skates must be worn on ice
  • Keep skates on mats when not on ice
  • No use of ice during maintenance
  • No food/beverage on ice. Alcohol consumption is not permitted in area
  • Garbage must be deposited in receptacles
  • No aggressive skating
  • Helmets strongly encouraged
  • Children should be supervised

Your free Winter Wonderland

Our Lakefront Skate and Market, located in the Joe Fowler North ball diamond, is returning for the 2025-26 season!

This free outdoor rink is the perfect spot to lace up the skates and take a glide with family and friends, all while enjoying the great outdoors! That’s not all – weekends from November 29 to December 23 will see artisan vendors offering a mixture of products to explore! Details on the vendor roster for each weekend to follow.

The Lakefront Skate and Market’s primary goal is fun, however, patrons must abide by the rules of the rink to ensure everyone can safely enjoy the area:

  • No hockey sticks, pucks, or nets
  • No skates in washrooms
  • No fighting

  • Skates must be worn on the ice

You can also sign up to become a vendor through the North Durham Chamber of Commerce’s vendor portal. Vendors can select which date(s) they are looking to participate and purchase their spot directly through the webpage. We recommend viewing our Vendor Application in advance, which highlights all requirements to participate. Spots are $25 per day or $45 for two days. Any vendors that sign up for three or more days will be offered a FREE spot at our Family Day Market, subject to availability.
